Duterte On Baste: ‘Hindi na umuuwi ng bahay. Sige lang doon kay Adarna’

Pres. Duterte shared a glimpse of his family life in a speech in Davao.

DUTERTE – Philippine Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte shared a glimpse of his family life and his relationship with his youngest son, Baste Duterte, during a speech in Davao City.

Pres. Duterte is the former mayor of Davao City who won the presidential seat last 2016 national election. He went out triumphant in a race against four other bets – former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas, Sen. Grace Poe, former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, and the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.

Pres. Duterte has three kids with his first wife – two of whom were also public servants in Davao City. His daughter, Inday Sara Duterte, is now the mayor of Davao and his son, Paolo Duterte, is the vice mayor.

The youngest son of Duterte with his first wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman, is Baste Duterte. Baste is known as lots of girls undeniably admire him.

Previously, news reports entailing stories stating that Baste was spotted with actress Ellen Adarna have broke in. However, later on, Adarna confirmed that her relationship with Baste is over.

Recently, in a speech in Davao City, Pres. Duterte, the President who is known for his strong advocacy against illegal drugs based on a previous news report, shared a glimpse of his family life and as well as his relationship with his youngest son.

Based on a recent news report in GMA News, Pres. Duterte was speaking in Davao when he opened up his private life. The audience laughed after the 71-year-old President shared how Baste is doing recently.

“Ang isang bunso, isa pa ring tarantado. Hindi na umuuwi ng bahay. Sige lang doon kay Adarna [The youngest, who is also a rowdy one, no longer go home anymore. He’s always there with Adarna], ” Pres. Duterte said.

The President also shared that he has talked with his grandchild and he regards it as a ‘tragedy’ when his grandchild would answer him that the kid only loves the mother.

“Tinanong ko iyong apo ko eh… ‘Sinong mahal mo? Papa mo at pati mama mo?’ ‘Mama lang.’ It’s a tragedy. Magsagot ang bata nang ganoon,” the President shared.

[I asked my grandchild… ‘Who do you love? You dad and as well as your mom?’ ‘Only mom.’ It’s a tragedy when the kid would answer that.]

According to the news report, Pres. Duterte expressed that his relationship with his youngest son made him remember of his relationship with his father, the late Governor Vicente Duterte.

He said that he has not also gone along well with his father and even shared that his father died without expecting that he will become a prosecutor and a mayor for he was ‘just a law student’ when his father passed away.
