Teo Announces Schedule Of Events For Miss Universe In PH

Tourism Sec. Teo announced the schedule of events of the next Miss Universe.

TEO – The schedule of events of the next Miss Universe pageant to be held in the Philippines has recently been released by Department of Tourism Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo.

The Miss Universe pageant is one of the contests that have always been awaited by the people across the globe. It is not just a battle of beauty but as well as brain and the way one carries herself.

The Miss Universe Organization is the body running this annual international battle of beauties and brains and the pageant is held every year.

In the previous year, the Philippines rejoiced for the victory of Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach who went home the Miss Universe 2015 crown. Reportedly, the announcement of winners during that time has even sparked a lot of headlines.

Many reactions as well were elicited when host Steve Harvey when he announced another contestant as the winner and later on corrected it and announced the name of the Philippines’ bet as the victor of the competition.

Previously, news reports broke in entailing that the next Miss Universe pageant will be held in the Philippines. It is going to happen on January 2017.

Based on a previous news report, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary, Judy Taguiwaloto, not to hide the Filipino people who have no homes.

Furthermore, the 71-year-old President also made a request not to choose comedian Steve Harvey to be the host during the international pageant.

In a recent news report in ABS-CBN News, it is stated that the Secretary of DOT, Wanda Tao, has already announced the schedule of events for the next international pageant to be held in PH.

Teo told the news media people that on January 12, the arrival of the candidates in the Philippines will begin and the pre-pageant activities will start on January 15.

A pictorial of the candidates in Vigan, Ilocos Sur and a Governor’s Ball at SMX will happen on the 15th and 16th respectively according to the DOT Secretary. On January 17, the swimwear contest is set to happen at Jpark Island Resort and Waterpark, Cebu.

Teo further announced that the candidates would be divided into groups and some will be off to Baguio while others are off to Albay. Batangas and Iloilo are also part of the venue of some activities based on the report.

A fashion show and a ‘women empowerment night’ will be held at the SMX Convention Center on the 21st and 22nd of January respectively as to the DOT Secretary.

Furthermore, the report entailed that the candidates will pay a courtesy call to Pres. Duterte in the Palace a day after the ‘women empowerment night’.

The World Trade Center is the venue of the Miss Universe national costume contest on January 24 and the coronation will be at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on the 30th of January.
