De Lima Relative Demanded Millions, Cars For Her Senatorial Bid

De Lima Relative Demanded Millions, Cars – Sentenced drug lord Peter Co claimed that a supposed nephew of Senator Leila De Lima had asked the latter for millions and vehicles to the be used by the former Justice Secretary on the senatorial race.

According to a report in Inquirer, Peter Co said that the said action by the De Lima’s relative was in exchange for the release of his niece and her husband who have been arrested in an anti-drug operation back in 2014.

During the House investigation on the alleged illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), Co identified the “nephew” of De Lima as a certain “Jad”, who demanded 5 million pesos for the release of his relatives.

Co said in his statement that his niece called to him last March 2016 reporting they have been arrested and if the Co would not give P5 million, a case will be filed against them.

With the help of a translator, they communicated with the supposed nephew of former DOJ Secretary and now Senator Leila De Lima named “Jad”. Co said that he borrowed money from his friend and the money has been given to “Jad” and another P1 million has been deposited to the bank account of the other one.

After the payment of the money, Co also claimed that the “Jad”, which has been identified by Tan as a certain Jose Adrian Dera, demanded vehicles and another P3 million for De Lima’s senatorial bid.

Co said this is the assurance that his relatives won’t be arrested again.

Meanwhile, Tan also testified that he has evidence of his transactions with Dera.
