Typhoon Ferdie Intensifies Signal No. 3 Raised In Batanes

Typhoon Ferdie intensifies signal no. 3 raised in Batanes province at 5 am on Tuesday (September 13, 2016) announced by PAGASA.

Signal number 3 was declared over Batanes province according to PAGASA due to intensified force wind of typhoon Ferdie. The typhoon was spotted 510 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts up to 250 kph.

According to PAGASA, Ferdie will bring moderate to heavy rain within its 200-kilometer diameter. Currently, the center of the storm is still on the sea and expected to landfall over the vicinity of Batanes on Wednesday morning.

It is expected to move northwest at 22 kph that triggered PAGASA to raised signal no. 3 in the province. While the tropical cyclone no. 2 was raised in Northern Cagayan including Babuyan Group of Islands and signal no. 1 was raised in Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte, and the rest of Cagayan.
