Davao Night Market: Like Nothing Happened

The Davao Night Market immediately went back to business despite of the deadly blast which claimed 14 people’s lives and injured about 70 others.

The Davao Night Market along Roxas Avenue in Davao City has gone back to business like there was no blast which took place on Friday night which claimed fourteen (14) people’s lives and injured about 70 others.

According to some who have been to the place on Monday night, they are not afraid to roam around the city, especially in the night market, because of President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration that Davao City is still safe despite of the deadly blast.

The tourists are also confident that the same atrocity will happen again because of the tightened security following the president’s declaration of putting the entire Philippines under the “state of lawlessness” or “state of lawless violence”.

However, the decrease in people who visit the night market is very noticeable.

The masseurs and therapists, food stalls and other businesses are back to normal although the customers have gone smaller.
