Outgoing Davao City Mayor and incoming President Rody Duterte visits Cebu City on Wednesday for a thanksgiving party organized by Bisaya Na Pud and other private groups that helped him in his successful presidential bid during the recently concluded national election. Pres. Duterte is accompanied by his closed aides and incoming Cabinet secretaries, the events expected more than 280 guests, bloggers and businessmen to attend the event.
The private victory party of Mayor Rody Duterte was held at the Cebu Country Club along the Governor Mariano Cuenco Avenue in Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.
Some of the most prominent personalities who were invited were incoming incoming Secretaries Alfonso Cusi of Energy and Vitaliano Aguirre III of Justice, incoming Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano and former Cebu Governor Emilio “Lito” Osmeña.
According to Jonjie Gonzalez of the group Bisaya Na Pud Movement, other guests in the Cebu City Victory Party of Pres. Duterte are local businessmen like Chito Clavano and Johnny Paras, the Veloso clan and the Duterte family.
According to Bisaya Na Pud Movement in Cebu, the two-hour event would not be open for media coverage and would be a private gathering of individuals who pushed to have a Bisaya in Malacañang.
During the victory party in Cebu City, they also invited some performers which include the incoming presidential son, Baste Duterte, Cebuana singer Anna Fegi, Kurt Fick, first Sinulog Idol Champion Jacqueline Chang, and other Bisaya singers.
Michael Dino, Bisaya na Pud Movement co-founder and incoming Presidential Assistant for the Visayas; and Cayetano, Duterte’s running mate, have been tapped to deliver messages.
