On Monday, G7 leaders issued a statement to Beijing for immediate halt in the coercive activities in the disputed waters.

G7 leaders believe that the use of intimidation, coercion or force, as well as any unilateral actions that attempts to change the status quo should be stopped.

However, China called slammed the G7 nation’s statement even calling it as “out of step.”

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Leo said Tuesday that the group of nations called for its formed opinion with regard to the issues concerning the disputed seas.

“What the G7 does and says are way out of step with the facts and the internationally recognized principles,” Hong said.

“As a sovereign state, China will make necessary response to any attempt to undermine China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Chinese official warned

The G7, composed of US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, was concerned about territorial tensions thus calling all regions to abide the international law.
