Controversial TV host and wholesome celebrity, Paolo Bediones, who was involved in an alleged controversial video was supported by his mother station as TV5, airs their official statement sent to one of the country’s leading newspaper publication PhilStar.
The 4o-year-old Paolo Bediones became the hottest trending topic on various social media sites on Sunday, July 27, 2014, when a video of a man resembling the news anchor and TV host went viral online.
According to some netizens the alleged video lasted for about six minutes involving Paolo Bediones and unidentified female. Although Paolo Bediones did not release his official statement yet, TV5 defended their TV host and news anchor.
In a statement sent to PhilStar.com and other news media outfits in the country, the Kapatid Network stated: “The recent issue involving our news anchor Paolo Bediones on social media is a purely personal and private matter in which TV5 has no involvement or desire to intrude. We accord our employee and talents all respects that are due them for their privacy and personal action or decision.” TV5 stated.
The news media company, TV5, added further “We disapprove strongly the malicious and wanton publication of the video, an act that clearly violates pertinent cybercrime laws.” “We firmly express our support to our anchor Paolo Bediones in the face of a controversy that represents nothing more than an attempt to smear his reputation.” TV5 noted.
In a separate news posted by the country’s leading entertainment news website, Pep.Ph, they noted that the video was old, the video already spread during the time when Paolo Bediones was still workind with GMA-7. Paolo Bediones, the host of Extra Challenge and Survivor Philippines previously worked with the Kapuso Network.
