The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2013 entries have already earned a record-breaking P934 million in 12 days of nationwide shooting as confirmed by MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino.
The P934 million figures was released officially by the organizers during a phone interview conducted by ABS-CBNnews.com on Monday, January 6, 2014.
The MMDA Chairman cited during the interview that movie “My Little Bossings” is still the top-grossing film in this year’s festival, the most successful one in terms of box office revenues.
Coming in second place as the top-grossing movie is the Vice Ganda-starrer “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” while coming in third place is the lone horror movie of the 2013 MMFF, the movie “Pagpag.”
The MMDA Chairman also revealed that during last Sunday’s box office results, (January 5), the movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” surp(–foul word(s) removed–)ed “My Little Bossings” in terms of ticket sales but “My Little Bossings” rebounded back on Monday, January 6, 2014.
According to the MMFF organizers, only for a single day that “GBBT” surp(–foul word(s) removed–)ed the movie “MLB” but in terms of total official figures, the movie “My Little Bossings” still dominated the box office earnings.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino was quoted: “For that single day lang, ‘yung kahapon lamang, ‘yung ‘Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy’ for single day lang ‘yung kahapon. Pero [leading pa rin] sa overall ang ‘My Little Bossings,'” he said.
The MMFF organizers did not reveal and cite the exact figures of the box office income only the total income was released. The other movies of the MMFF 2013 are still jockeying for positions.
The rest of the MMFF entries this year, in no particular order, are “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel,” “10,000 Hours,” “Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill (The Arturo Porcuna Story),” “Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir,” and “Kaleidoscope World.”
