Jovi Gatdula Albao Explained Why She Marry Freddie Aguilar

As of November 22 Friday, 16-year-old Jovi Albao proved her love to the 60-year-old phenomenal Folk singer Freddie Aguilar through a Muslim wedding.

The couple gathered a lot of criticisms from social media especially from some netizens when Aguilar announced last October that he has a teen girlfriend, right after,  many wants to oppose their May-December love affair due to the law here in the Philippines.

According to an interview, Albao spoke briefly during the round of media after the Islamic rites held in restaurant in Buluan Maguindanao, saying she is happy with her decision to marry the hitmaker of “Anak.”

“Syempre masaya ko, kasi hindi naman nabubuhay para sa ibang tao,” she said. “Nabubuhay kami para sa sarali namin. ‘Yung ginagawa namin ay dahil gusto namin ‘to, mahal namin ang isa’t-isa at pinapatunayan lang namin ang pagmamahal namin.”

Aguilar plans to marry Albao when she turns 18, but for the couple, two years is too long to stop the speculations against them.

“Sana tumigil na ‘yung mga detractors namin. Kasi kaya nga kami nagpakasal kasi ayaw ngang tumigil ‘yung mga paninira sa aming dalawa,” he said. “So naisipan naming dalawa na kung magpapakasal na kami ay titigil na lahat, hindi na nila iisipin na kasalanan ‘yung ginagawa namin.”

Jovi Albao stressed that she really love Aguilar no matter what, and old is he, and for her, she never care what others will tell on their relationship. Albao also added that she never aims for the wealth of Aguilar and his popularity.

Now with their new names as Abdul Farid (Freddie Aguilar) and Jovi Gatdula Albao (Sittie Mariam), as they tie knots with each other the couple then wished to stop the controversy between them.
