The Petron Blaze Boosters is now tied with Rain or Shine as the top 2 teams in the PBA Governors Cup after they defeated, Rain or Shine on Friday, August 23, with the final score at 99-84.
Pertron Blaze import Elijah Millsap scored with 33 points and grabbed 13 rebounds after his opening day loss, right now the team secured a back-to-back victory.
The depending champion Rain or Shine Elasto Painters came into the match with an impressive two straight victories to begin the conference but facing the Boosters took a tool on their offensive prowess. Petron dominated the first half, with a 20 points lead at 56-36 and their lead never fell below 13 points answering every points given by the Elasto Painters.
Petron’s local player lead by Alex Cabagnot scored with 16 points and 11 rebounds while Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo contributed with 13 and 11 points respectively for the Boosters.
The Boosters win against the Elasto Painters put the two teams with an identical 2-1 cards, leaving Talk ‘N Text as the only unbeaten team in the PBA Governors Cup 2013 with a 1-0 win-loss card.
