Among the crime related to the social networking sites like Facebook and other social networking sites, another raped victim appeared in a Police station to file a complaint against a Facebook friend named John Hill Bagsic.
A 15-year-old Filipina was purportedly raped by a certain John Hill Bagsic a Facebook friend of “Chean” (not a real name) during their first meeting last August 15, 2011.
According to Chean they became virtual friend through social networking site – Facebook and later invited for a meal meeting. But she was surprised that after their meal Bagsic brought her to a motel and immediately Bagsic lock the door and turn off the light.
“Nagulat ako pumasok kami sa parang motel, nilock na niyo po yung pinto tapos pinatay nya yung ilaw… Lumaban po ako pero di ko po talaga nakaya, ang lakas-lakas niya,” she said in ABS-CBNNews reporter Francis Faulve.
After the incident Bagsic left the motel and took her money, cellphone and music player. The motel guard was then informed her that she was abandoned by her check-in partner.
Chean rushed to the Police station for a Police blotter but could not able to do so because she did get any information about Bagsic.
Chean learned so much from the incident and wanted to warn anybody who has a virtual friendship not to trust easily to the people they just met.
“Dapat po wag magtitiwala agad, wag po basta basta papayag na makipag-eyeball,” she said.
Chean and her family wanted to file a case against the rapist besides of the loose of his identity.
