Derrick Rose, the 22-year-old point guard of the Chicago Bulls who hailed from Chicago, Illonois was considered as the youngest NBA Player to be named Most Valuable Player of the Year. The 2009 NBA Rookie of the Year will follow through the achievement of his coach which had been named Coach of the Year, Tom Thibodeau.

The point guard from Chicago Bulls who stands at 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m) and played for the  U.S. Team at the 2010 FIBA World Championships. In his second season he was selected also to the 2010 NBA All-Star Game.

Rose had already scored  over 2000 points and 600 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists during this season. He follows the footsteps of LeBron James and Michael Jordan who had both win the Most Valuable Player Award.  The last Chicago player to win an MVP was the great Michael Jordan.

Derrick Rose leads the Chicago Bulls in scoring with an average of 25 points, 7.7 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists and 4.1 rebounds in only his third season in the league.

The Chicago Bulls 62-20 record, the best in the league, was attributed to Rose floor leadership and carried the team during stretches without teammates Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, who both spent time nursing injuries.

Derrick Rose when interviewed was quoted as saying “If I get it? It’ll be nice, unbelievable, a goal that in the beginning in the year I said I wanted to achieve,” Rose said. “It would be huge, not only for me, but for the city.” says the forecasted NBA MVP.
