Male Netizen Shares Grief After Father’s Death, Clarifies Concerns About 911 Response
A male netizen became angry with the 911 emergency hotline after an alleged delayed response, which he believes contributed to the death of his father.
Basty Askri, a Facebook user, shared his anger and sentiments online regarding the alleged delay in emergency assistance. His post quickly went viral and drew mixed reactions from netizens.
According to his account, he spent several minutes attempting to contact 911 during a critical situation. He also shared that he personally performed CPR on his father while waiting for help to arrive.

The experience led him to post his thoughts online, describing the fear, stress, and helplessness he felt as his family tried to save a loved one during a medical emergency.
However, Askri later issued a clarification and apology regarding some parts of his earlier post. He explained that he had spoken while overwhelmed by grief and emotions following his father’s death.
After reviewing the events, he learned that the vehicle that brought his father to the hospital was not the ambulance dispatched through the 911 system. Instead, his brother had gone directly to their barangay hall to ask for help after their father became unconscious.

Barangay responders reportedly arrived quickly and assisted the family during the emergency.
Askri also clarified that he could not accurately explain why certain equipment or personnel were unavailable at that time because everything happened so quickly. He said he did not want to make assumptions or spread incorrect information.
The family expressed gratitude to the barangay officials, responders, and the driver who helped them during the crisis. Call records also showed that a 911-linked ambulance later attempted to contact the family, but by then they had already reached the hospital.
As government authorities review the incident, the family has chosen not to make further accusations and instead hopes that any possible issues in the emergency response system will be properly investigated.

“Tangina mo, 911. Tangina mo, Pilipinas.
Tangina, ano ‘to?
