Amazon ahead in Cloud Player and Drive

Amazon an online retailing giants based in Seattle have just launched two consumer “cloud computing” products, Amazon Cloud Drive and Amazon Cloud Player.

Amazon Cloud Drive, which allows users to store as much as 5 gigabytes of music for free, and Amazon Cloud Player for the Web, which plays back that music on Macs, PCs and devices running Android operating system.

Amazon’s announcement of their products was ahead of the scheduled released of the  rumored similar services from Apple and Google. The music locker service was launched late Monday.

Amazon Cloud Player, lets users upload their music to an Amazon server and play songs from any Web browser or by using an application on mobile phones or tablets that use Android operating system.

Pros and Cons:

Amazon Cloud Player was fast, has a clear interface with 5 GB free storage. With video playing capabilities aside from music. The problem was it offers no file sharing capabilities, expensive for extra storage. Extra storage is basically a dollar a GB per year. Without privacy and less security.

Over all Performance and Interface:

The ability to play an MP3 and AAC Files directly via Amazon Cloud Player is what makes the Amazon Cloud Drive a way ahead of its competitors. This is an online storage pure and simple.

Cloud Drive shows two main sections in its left organization panel—lists and folders. Default lists include your Amazon MP3 purchases, Uploads, and All files. By default, you get folders for Documents, Music, Pictures, and Videos, and under each of these as well as the top level drive you can add subfolders simply with a button click.
