The Vice Ganda-starrer movie, “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” made another milestone as the movie breached the P400-million milestone at the box office, as confirmed by Vice Ganda himself during the live episode of “It’s Showtime” on Thursday, January 8, 2015. The MMFF-entry movie is on track to dethrone the highest grossing movie Filipino movie of all time.
The 39-year-old Vice Ganda stated during the announcement that the MMFF-entry movie earned P402 million after the close of nationwide screenings on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.
Praybeyt Benjamin 2 is still showing in more than 100 cinemas across the country due to huge demands from moviegoers to wants to watch the movie of the box office king, Vice Ganda which also features Bimby Aquino-Yap and Richard Yap.
Right now the country’s highest grossing movie of all time is the MMFF entry “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” that also features Kris Aquino and Ai Ai delas Alas.
The movie “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” is directed by Wenn Deramas, also the director of the country’s highest grossing movie of all time.
In an earlier announcement by the MMDA, the MMFF executive committee head Francis Tolentino noted that the 2014 edition of the annual event has already earned more than P949 million nationwide, as of January 5, setting a new record, while the 2013 edition of the festival earned P936 million in the same period.
