DONNALYN BARTOLOME – Singer-vlogger Donnalyn Bartolome reacted after Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen deleted his Tweet.

Donnalyn Bartolome is referred to as the Social Media Goddess in the Philippines. She already has 9.27 million Youtube subscribers and 6.9 million Instagram followers.

Less than a month after her baby-themed birthday photo shoot, the Youtube star became the talk of the town anew when she uploaded her “kanto-style” birthday celebration on her Youtube channel on August 11. It trended right away on its first day on the video-sharing platform.

Instead of a lavish party in a hotel, Donnalyn Bartolome held it in a kanto where her birthday spread included isaw, balut, and other street food, and her birthday cake was burnt rice.

Donnalyn’s table set-up was very simple and her guests were seen having a drinking spree while enjoying a videoke session. Social media influencer drew flak for her kanto-themed birthday party. Some netizens said her birthday party shows “poverty p*rn.” She aestheticized the unfortunate reality of many Pinoys.

Among the personalities who commented on her kanto birthday is Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen. He Tweeted: “Instead of pretending to be poor through a lavish kanto-themed party, why not understand what it is to be poor and find ways and means to assist. To be poor is not something to celebrate by the rich. It is insensitive. Just saying.”

Though he didn’t name names, many netizens believe Leonen is pertaining to Donnalyn.

On an FB post, the actress-vlogger reacted: “Wow pati Supreme Court Justice associate? Bawal po ako pumarty the way I partied before fame? Sino po kayo para mag-assume I don’t know what it’s like to be poor? Supreme Court Justice Associate tapos di nag-gather ng facts bago mangjudge? What a shame!”

On Facebook this Sunday, August 21, 2022, Donnalyn said that she felt she was gifted with peace in the incident. She thanked Marvic Leonen after he deleted his tweet about the “kanto-themed” birthday party.

She said it is a good example that someone with a high position in the government does not hesitate to take back his criticism of someone. She also called on her followers to stop bashing the magistrate.
