Female Passenger Accuses Modernized Jeepney Conductor of Humiliating Them in Bacolod
A female passenger in Bacolod City expressed her frustration after she and her friends were allegedly embarrassed by a conductor of a modernized jeepney during a ride.
Recently, Jiselle Segunla, a Facebook user, shared her experience about the incident happened on September 11 at around 2 p.m. while they were riding a modernized jeepney operating along the Shopping–La Salle–Libertad route.
According to Segunla, she and her friends were simply seated and talking when the conductor approached them and reportedly told them that they needed to pay for an additional seat because of the space they were occupying.

The group said they immediately paid the requested fare. However, Segunla claimed that the conductor returned and repeatedly commented about their size and the amount of space they were using.
Jiselle said the remarks made them feel uncomfortable and embarrassed, especially because other passengers were present.
One of her friends reportedly responded that she would simply stop riding the jeepney and use her motorcycle instead. The conductor allegedly responded with another remark about the possibility of having a motorcycle accident.
Segunla said she was particularly upset because the issue could have been handled in a more respectful manner. She acknowledged that passengers are expected to pay the proper fare, but she felt that the conductor went beyond discussing payment and made personal remarks about their appearance.
The passenger also questioned whether a small fare difference was worth causing embarrassment to passengers who were simply trying to get to their destination.
A lot of netizens expressed sympathy for the passengers and agreed that public transportation workers should communicate with customers politely, especially when addressing concerns about seating and fares.
However, the allegations remain based on the passenger’s account, and the conductor’s side of the story was not included in the post.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
