PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Tuesday (March 8)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area and northeast monsoon will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (March 8, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low-pressure area and amihan will continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area and the northeast monsoon will be affecting Northern Luzon. The LPA has been last spotted at 100 km East Southeast of Davao City, Davao del Sur.

“Dahil sa epekto ng low pressure area, malaking bahagi ng ating bansa ang makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may mga pag-ulan,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The LPA will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, provinces of Sorsogon, Albay, Masbate, Romblon, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

The northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy condition with light rains over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, and Mt. Province.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over Occidental Mindoro, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra and Benguet.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, Central Luzon and the rest of Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
