PAGASA Says Shear Line to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Condition Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update For Tuesday (January 18)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line and the northeast monsoon would bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (January 18, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Amihan and the tail-end of a cold front will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon would affect the rest of the country.

The shear line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Northern Samar, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Central Visayas.

Possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains are expected in those areas.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over Bicol region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, rest of Visayas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are also expected to experience similar weather condition due to the effects of the northeast monsoon.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon, and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have a moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.
