Ogie Diaz talked about the cyber libel complaint that was filed against him
Comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz shared his reaction to being cleared of the cyber libel complaint that was filed against him by DUMPER Party List Representative Claudine Bautista-Lim.
To recall, when photos of Claudine taken during her so-called “lavish wedding” in Balesin surfaced online, several celebrities aired dismay through their social media posts. Ogie was one of them.
Because of the bashing that the congresswoman and her family received, she filed cyber libel case against Ogie Diaz, Pokwang, Agot Isidro, and Enchong Dee. The first three celebrities were cleared but the case against the latter pushed through because his tweet had a “malicious intent”, the prosecutors stated.
On the other hand, the prosecutors said that the tweets of Ogie, Pokwang, and Agot were mainly brought by their feelings of frustration. In line with this, based on the article in Bandera, Ogie was asked to react regarding the issue.
“Siyempre lahat kami nasampahan ng kaso pero nagkataon lang siguro ‘yung amin (kasama sina Pokwang at Agot) medyo simple kaya nabasura,” the comedian-talent manager said after initially avoiding to answer this kind of inquiry.
Ogie also said that he really chose not to discuss the case on his Showbiz Update vlog because Enchong is his fellow showbiz personality and he was the only one who is facing the cyber libel case now.
“Siyempre sad ako for Enchong pero sana maayos, sana ganu’n din ang kalabasan ng tulad sa amin. Pero hindi pa tapos (yung sa kanila nina Agot at Pokwang) kasi depende na lang kung may aapela,” the comedian-talent manager added.
However, Ogie Diaz stressed that he has learned his lesson, as well as to other showbiz personalities. He said that even though on their part, it was not libelous, still what they say may hurt other people.
