Enchong Dee: Rep. Claudine Bautista No Plan To File Case But…

Claudine Bautista released statement on cyber libel case versus Enchong Dee

DUMPER party list representative Claudine Bautista said that she did not intend to file a cyber libel case against Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee but she did anyway because of this.

To recall, Enchong criticized the congresswoman because of her “lavish” wedding with Jose French “Tracker” Lim in Balesin. Just recently, reports surfaced that Bautista filed a case against Enchong due to his “defamatory and malicious” remark against her.

Based on her Facebook post, the lawmaker said that she has no plan to file a case against the actor and the netizen who criticized her wedding on social. However, it was her husband who convinced her to file a case as he and their family were greatly affected by the criticisms online.

“While I would have preferred to be silent about this matter, my husband, like any good and loving family man, took it upon himself to seek redress from the legal system, to protect me and our family from baseless and damaging claims made against us,” Bautista stated.

She added that the business of their family also got affected. The congresswoman also stressed that her husband saw the effect on this issue on her heath, especially when it comes to her “sensitive pregnancy”.

“The anxiety, anguish, humiliation and the impact on my and my family’s reputation left us no choice but to file cases against those responsible for causing us so much grief and worry, which almost led to me losing our baby, and which adversely affected some of our constituents’ trust in us.” Bautista said.

She also pointed out that the case was filed in August, a month after the bashing transpired online and she said that there was no fanfare. The congresswoman also said that their camp does not know how this case reached the media.

Claudine Bautista, in the case she filed against Enchong Dee, demanded that the actor should pay P1 billion for “moral damages”. To recal, the actor deleted his post and issued a public apology for what he said against the congresswoman.
