Several OFWs Heading Abroad Day Get Emotional For Not Being Able to Christmas w/ Family
Numerous OFWs heading abroad for work before Christmas Day get emotional and bursts into for not being able to celebrate the holiday with family.
During this Christmas Season, several Overseas Filipino Workers are set to return to the Philippines to celebrate the holiday together with their family and loved ones. They need to undergo self-quarantine for a couple of days to ensure the safety of their loved ones.
Unfortunately, some of our countrymen heading abroad get emotional and expressed their sadness for not being able to celebrate the Christmas Season with their family. OFWs have experienced mixed emotions before parting ways with their families.
However, the OFWs were also happy to go abroad because they can earn a huge amount of cash to give their loved ones a better and a brighter future. They are pretty optimistic despite the hardships of life.
“Masaya po na malungkot. Malungkot kasi dalawang taon ko po siya ‘di makikita pero masaya kasi mabibigay ko ang pangangailangan niya,” OFW Ara Villaflor said.
Another Pinay migrant worker Nikka Lumacad bursts into tears as she bids farewell to her husband and child before leaving to work abroad. “Para sa kanila itong ginawa ko para maano ko ang pangangailangan nila,” Lumacad said.
According to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration over 100,000 OFWs are expected to return to the Philippines this month of December.
Those heartbreaking scenes only prove that OFWs are among the modern day heroes who were doing their best to support the financial necessities of their family.
