Remembering his remarkable life as an entertainment journalist

He was born on April 16, 1961, and he spent decades working in the entertainment industry as a columnist, broadcaster, talent manager, and film producer. With hard work, determination, and persistence, he built his career until he established himself as a familiar name in the field of showbiz journalism.
Life was hard for him during his younger years, but the difficulties did not stop him from reaching more achievements. Fueled up by his dreams, he decided to stay in Manila and joined PETA in the 1980s, where he discovered his passion for theater and storytelling. He later met playwright and columnist George Vail Kabristante, who encouraged him to pursue entertainment writing.

Kabristante referred him to Jingle Extra Hot, where Jobert landed his first assignment—interviewing Cherie Gil. The actress warmly welcomed him and even helped him with story ideas and questions.
That opportunity marked the beginning of Jobert’s four-decade career in entertainment journalism.
In the 1990s, Jobert’s friendship with veteran host Boy Abunda opened doors for him in television and radio. He joined GMA’s entertainment shows Show & Tell and Startalk before moving to ABS-CBN, where he later became part of The Buzz.

He became known for his work covering local celebrities and entertainment news, as well as his presence in radio broadcasting.
Beyond journalism, he also explored other aspects of the entertainment industry, such as talent management and film production. His career reflected his ability to adapt to different roles while remaining connected to the Philippine entertainment scene.
