Newly-Born Infant Passes Away After Abandoned by Parents Inside Church

MOLO, ILOILO CITY – A newly-born infant has been abandoned by an irresponsible parent inside of St. Anne Parish Church.

Throughout the decades, early or unwanted pregnancy becomes one of the most common problems not only in the Philippines but also in various countries all around the world. It is the reason why some children grew up in broken families.

Unfortunately, some mothers ended up abandoning their newly-born baby due to unwanted pregnancy. Abandoned infants usually grow up in orphanages or to foster parents but some of them failed to survive.

Last weekend, the Church security guard is supposed to close the building when he found a paper bag at the entrance. He tried to take a look at the paper bag and got surprised after he found a newly-born infant with umbilical cord.

The security guard immediately reported it to the police authorities for immediate action. The authorities rushed the infant to the nearest hospital but the poor baby eventually passed away due to its condition.

“Pagka maya-maya gumalaw ang tiyan ng bata tapos kaagaran naming isinakay sa patrol dinala sa Doctor’s, tapos ayun idineklara siyang dead-on-arrival,” the church guard Melbert Famulaga said.

The priest blessed the child before it was brought to its final resting place. The police officers still investigating to locate and identify the person who left the poor baby girl inside the church.
