Unidentified Woman Abandoned Own Infant Inside Room Lodging House in Butuan City
BUTUAN CITY – A poor infant has been abandoned by its own mother inside a lodging house in Butuan City.
The caretaker of a lodging house in Butuan City identified as Lore John Acosta Barnizo got surprised after he saw a baby boy inside of a room at the lodging house. The staff explained that the woman check-in alone.
Barnizo initially thought that the woman is pregnant for having a bump while wearing a jacket. He did not notice the baby when the woman check-in inside the lodging house.
“Akala naming buntis ang ina kasi malaki ang tiyan, naka-jacket. Wala kaming batang nakita pagpasok,” the caretaker said.
Lore explained that the lady customer went out to eat at a restaurant but she never returned. He found the newly-born baby child alone inside the room. The woman even left a note beside the baby.
The infant’s mom wrote in the note that the baby’s father is molesting and abusing her. She also asked the person who found the baby to name it “Gabriel”. The infant is currently under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
