Mall Hours in Metro Manila May Be Adjusted as Holidays Draw Near

Update on Mall Hours in Metro Manila amid the Holiday Season

MALL HOURS IN METRO MANILA – The mall owners and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) are planning to adjust the mall hours as the holidays draw near.

The most awaited time of the year of many people is the Christmas season and it is finally here again. However, many things have changed as the Philippines continues to fight the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Several nations across the globe are greatly affected by the pandemic that started over a year now. Many healthcare systems were shaken and some even collapsed. In PH, the whole nation remains under community quarantine measures.

Metro Manila is currently under localized lockdowns that observe alert level systems. According to the Department of Health (DOH), widespread lockdown may no longer be effective as people need to go out for work.

Usually, during the pre-pandemic times, a lot of people are busy buying gifts and pieces of stuff in malls as the holidays draw near. Malls hours in Metro Manila and across the country also meet changes to accommodate more shoppers and give them more time to shop.

Mall managements recognize that some people only have very little time after work to shop for gifts or other pieces of stuff in preparation for the holidays. However, due to the situation now, there are a lot of changes. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, small children are still not allowed of dine-ins in restaurants inside the mall.

According to the report, the mall owners and the MMDA are also planning to make changes to the mall hours in Metro Manila. Currently, most malls are operating from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The mall operators and the MMDA are planning to adjust it from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. or 12 midnight. However, the curfew which covers 12 midnight to 4:00 a.m. must be adjusted first.

Reportedly, the goal is to place a gap between the opening and the closing of the mall and the rush hour when most people are going to or from work. More updates may be posted soon.
