Rabiya Mateo Admits To Dating A Man A Few Years Older Than Her
RABIYA MATEO – Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo said she once went out on a date with a man who was 7 years her senior.
Ilongga beauty queen Rabiya Mateo was crowned Miss Universe Philippine 2020 last October. She represented the Philippines in Miss Universe 2020 held in Florida, USA.
The 24-year-old Pinay beauty has failed to bring the 5th crown for the country. It was won by Mexico’s rep Andrea Meza. Following her failed attempt to get the title, she embarked on a travel experience and visited Filipino communities in the US.
Rabiya Mateo went home with a renewed spirit and fulfilled heart and tried something new out of joining pageants. She entered the world of vlogging and was later introduced as the newest artist of the Kapuso network.
During her recent guesting on “The Boobay and Tekla Show,” Rabiya was asked if she had gone out with someone who was older than her. She confessed that she once went on a date with a man who was 7 years her senior.
“Three years ‘yung ex ko, pero nakipag-date din ako sa seven years yung gap namin,” she said.

Rabiya Mateo explained that since she was raised by a single mom, she sought a father figure when she dated older men. She said, “Wala akong dad so siguro yung hinahanap ko sa relationship is somebody na mag-aalaga sa’kin. Tatay pala talaga yung hinahanap.”
According to the beauty queen, she believes in the saying “love has no boundaries” and everyone has the right to love and be loved regardless of their age.
“As long as kayong dalawa, nasa legal age naman, and if it’s love, wala tayong magagawa. Love has no gender, it has no age. Basta legal kayong dalawa,” she said.

Rabiya Mateo was previously in a relationship with nurse Neil Salvacion. They broke up last June, a month after the Kapuso star competed in the Miss Universe pageant.
Her ex-boyfriend auditioned for Kapamilya’s reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” earlier this month. In his audition video, he opened up his experience as a frontliner in the middle of the pandemic and the sadness he felt when he parted ways with the person he loved.
