Who is Miss Mexico Andrea Meza?
Miss Universe 2020 is Miss Mexico Andrea Meza and here are a few things about the recent winner of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.
Andrea is one of the contestants who immediately caught the attention of pageant fans from around the globe. Based on the article in Philstar Lifestyle, she was born in Chihuahua City, Chihuahua. “I’m so proud in the place I live,” Andrea said in her introduction video.
She works as the city’s official tourism ambassador in Chihuahua and as a women’s rights activist she works closely with Municipal Institute for Women in Mexico.
Aside from advocating the works that will create an impact on society, Andrea Meza is also known as a certified makeup artist, model, and actress.
Before her modeling stint and eventually joining pageants, Andrea worked software engineer after she graduated from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua.
It is not the first time that Miss Mexico set foot on the stage of an international pageant. In 2016, she won Miss World Mexico and that gave her the opportunity to represent her country in the Miss World pageant in 2017 in Sanya City, China. At that time, Laura Lehmann represented the Philippines.
Andrea Meza was hailed first runner-up in Miss World 2017. She lost against India’s Manushi Chhillar. In November, she joined again the national pageant in her country – the Mexicana Universal 2020.
This brought her to the Miss Universe 2020 stage. Then, the pageant veteran from Mexico brought home the most prestigious beauty pageant crown.
Andrea Meza is the third Miss Universe winner from Mexico. The first one was Lupita Jones in 1991 and it was followed by Ximena Navarrete in 2010.
