Police Arrested Suspect on Stabbing and Beating a Young Lad Over Pigeon Race Bet

Police arrested the suspect for allegedly stabbing and one of the men who beat the young lad that will supposedly claim his win in the pigeon race bet.

One of the suspects in the murder of a guy who will purportedly claim his winning bet against them during a pigeon race was apprehended at San Adnres, Bukid in Manila during a follow-up operation conducted by the Manila Police District (MPD).

Pigeon Race Stabbing

Virgilio Celis y Elogario, aka “Vir,” 20, of 1661 Estrada St., Barangay 767, San Andres Bukid, Manila, was identified as the suspect. During the follow-up operation, the suspect allegedly surrendered after learning that the authorities were chasing them.

Kenneth Pagulayan y Santos aka Pato, 30, a young guy of 2080 Batangas Line St. San Andres Bukid, Manila, was chased, beaten, and stabbed by more than five persons on June 6 p.m., according to reports. The victim was able to flee, according to CCTV footage from the barangay previously held by MPD-Homicide.

When he faced San Andres Bukid at the corner of Sagrada Familia St. and Granate St., he fell and was unable to fight back. Betting on the pigeon race was alleged to be the reason of the occurrence in the earlier investigation, in which the victim was charged P1,000, which was not paid by the culprits.

According to P/Major Henry Navarro, chief of the MPD homicide, the final report on the said case is still being finalized and is expected to be considered in the Inquest Proceedings.
