Rookie Police Arrested After Playing With His Gun and Accidentally Shot Inmate
ROOKIE POLICE – a novice playing his service fireman accidentally shot an inmate that eventually died in San Luis Municipal Police Station, Aurora Province.
Due to the negligence of an inexperienced police officer with his gun, an inmate was killed inside the police station in Aurora Province. According to the patrolman, the suspect was identified as Christian Torres, a novice police.
Based on the report of Manila Bulletin, Torres is now in danger of being fired from his service, after he killed an inmate. He accidentally shot the inmate while playing his service firearm like a cowboy inside the police station.
Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, director of Police Regional Office 3, said that he has already ordered the disarmament of 27-year-old Torres while awaiting the result of the investigation. He was immediately placed under strict police custody.

According to de Leon, Torres was on duty last Saturday night, he was standing in a detention cell when he thought of holding his gun and playing with it. While playing with his service firearm, 30-year-old Christian Gabral who was watching television inside the cell was accidentally shot.
Gabral, the inmate, was hit in the chest, said de Leon. He was immediately taken to the hospital but he was declared dead. de Leon, on the other hand, warned the police, especially the novices, to strictly and properly observe the gun safety training they conducted during their training
He said that guns should not be played with especially if they have ammunition loaded. If found guilty, he will be meted with both administrative and criminal charges.
“We do not condone any irregularities from our personnel,” said de leon. The official added that Torres tested negative for the drug but tested positive for paraffin.
