Pres. Duterte Set To Speak Over New Community Quarantine Measures Vs. COVID-19
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to announce the new community quarantine measures against COVID-19 on July 30.
The fight against COVID-19 in over 200 countries and territories across the globe is ongoing. The Philippines is one of the nations that recorded cases of this deadly disease that rocked healthcare systems.
Across the globe, this coronavirus has already claimed over 600,000 lives. The total cases recorded in the different countries is over 16 million now with more than 10 million recoveries.
In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 83,673 cases of COVID-19 as of this writing. The death toll is at 1,947 while the recoveries is at 26,617.
Currently, community quarantine measures are still up in the Philippines. Cebu City was placed under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for being the current epicenter of COVID-19.

Metro Manila and several other areas are under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) while most areas considered as low-risk for coronavirus are under a Modified GCQ.
The said community quarantine measures against COVID-19 are set to expire soon. Based on a report on CNN, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to announce new community quarantine measures on Thursday, July 30.
Based on the report, Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said that the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force has already met to talk about the suggestions for the new quarantine measures. The implementation will begin on August 1.
