Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan Tests Positive For COVID-19
LAPU-LAPU CITY MAYOR – The mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu Junard “Ahong” Chan confirmed he tested positive for coronavirus.
The 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was first detected in Wuhan City, China. The deadly virus targets the person’s respiratory system.
A COVID-19 victim may exhibit cough, fever, muscle pain, and shortness of breath. Some coronavirus patients may also be asymptomatic.
Everyone is tracking the 2019 novel coronavirus cases in the Philippines. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed the entire country under the State of Calamity on March 16, 2020. As of June 11, 2020, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases now is 24,175.

Recently, another politician tested positive for COVID-19. Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan announced that he is positive for coronavirus on his Facebook Page.
In the caption of his post, he said he is asymptomatic and is now under quarantine. He asked his townmates not to worry and none of his family members positive for coronavirus.
“Although we realize that we are trying to avoid covid-19, we are still getting caught with that pain. I’ll change, I’m positive on covid-19. I don’t want to get this virus but it doesn’t choose and we don’t add it because the opponent can’t be seen. However, I am motivated that my recovery is fast because I know you and my loved ones who always offer our prayers to our recoveries prayers like the prayers of our recoveries that we call ‘Covid’ I love you…”
“You don’t have to worry about my situation today because it is part of my responsibility as a father of our city and I have given my life to serve the people. Continue my work even though I’m still in our home through our virtual meet and through social media. I will always offer service for the people of the people!” he said.
