Mother Goes Viral After Packing Butane for Daughter Who Requested Samgyup for School Lunch
A mother went viral after jokingly packing a butane stove for her daughter to bring to school following the child’s request for samgyup.
Recently, Jem Diocares, a Facebook user, shared a video showing how she playfully pranked her daughter. The post quickly gained attention online and received various reactions from members of the online community.
The young girl was already dressed in her school uniform and seemed excited for the start of classes. All she needed was her packed meal before heading out the door.
When asked what food she wanted, MG requested samgyup, a popular Korean barbecue meal loved by many Filipinos. Instead of preparing the dish, her mother came out carrying a butane stove, surprising her daughter and turning the moment into a hilarious family prank.
According to Jem Benedictos, a 31-year-old mother, joking around with her daughter has always been part of their daily life. She shared that she remembered having a butane stove at home and thought it would be funny to bring it out after hearing her daughter’s request for samgyup.
“Palagi ko naman siyang niloloko, tapos naalala ko lang na may butane kami na nakatabi,” Jem said.

Benedictos also explained that she often posts videos of her pranks on MG whenever her reactions are funny or unexpected.

Despite the jokes, Jem said she always supports her daughter and wants her to focus on her studies. As a mother, she remains committed to preparing her child’s meals and taking care of her every day while encouraging her to do well in school.
