Hackers of the social media accounts of Kris Bernal demanded money
Kapuso actress Kris Bernal revealed that the hackers of her social media accounts are demanding money in exchange of giving her back the control.
Social media plays an important role in the lives of celebrities nowadays. Through their accounts, they are able to update their fans regarding their activities and upcoming projects. Some celebrities use their accounts to promote certain products or services that they are endorsing.
However, a dreadful thing happened to Kris. Her social media accounts were hacked and the hackers are demanding her to pay $750 or roughlly P40,000. The actress shared this unfortunate event in her life through a YouTube video which was posted on September 22.
According to report from PEP, the hackers contacted Kris through WhatsApp. The hackers asked the said amount in exchange of giving her back the control on her social media accounts.
For some people, this might be a simple problem but Kris Bernal is emotional because she exerted a lot of effort to reach the number of followers that she has now. Currently, the actress has 1.4 million followers on Instagram. “It’s not as much as others but it took like how many years to get those,” she said.
She shared that this did not happen overnight. Kris knows that the number of her followers is not as many as other celebrities but it took her years to reach this status. “Gusto ko maging malakas sa social media because alam ko pag TV talagang may viewers na talaga ako sa TV. Pero sa social media, gusto ko ma-capture yung audience na ‘yon. Tina-try ko talaga yung best ko, like, every single day, I post something that is interesting,” the actress said.
The Kapuso star aimed to capture the possible audience that she will have on social media but apparently, she worries that this will take a halt. For her, she lost everything. It is because the details of her shows and businesses are in her accounts.
With this, Kris Bernal called out to people who could help her retrieve her social media accounts. She also appealed to her followers to still follow her if she will create new accounts. Based on the report from PEP, here is what the IG account of Kris looked like when it was hacked.
Fortunately, at the time of writing, her name and profile picture were already restored.
