Nanette Medved donates 8 classrooms to Marawi.
NANETTE MEDVED – The “Darna” actress Nanette Medved just recently turned over eight classrooms to war-stricken city of Marawi.
The Marawi Siege or also known as the Marawi crisis strikes Marawi, Lanao Del Sur last May 23, 2017, which lasted for five months before it was announced “liberated from terrorist influence” by the president. This is in between the Philippine government security forces and militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), including the Maute and Abu Sayyaf Salafi jihadist groups.
Truly, the battle has already ended, however, the bullet marks, lives of both the civilian and armies, ruined buildings, the trauma and fear it left to the children, and the blood that covered the location remained. These signs showed that another armed conflict between Filipinos added to the country’s history.
The whole Philippines mourn over the bloody and dreadful war. A lot of people have extended help for the rehabilitation of Marawi and to aide the new life people there are starting to build again after the battle.
Among the people with a golden heart who reached out and extended help is the “Darna” actress Nanette Medved. Truly, she is living up her role into a reality as a “superhero” to those who are in need. The 8 classrooms was made possible by Generation Hope Inc. – a non-profit organization she founded in 2014 where she now stands as the Chair and the president.
“So happy to be able to turn over 8 classrooms here in Marawi today ♥️♥️♥️ Thank you to the Maranao for your heart warming hospitality especially given the circumstances!” she said in a post that warmed the hearts of many people.
Also, other known celebrities who donated for the rehabilitation of Marawi are: Angel Locsin, Piolo Pascual, Sharon Cuneta, Bb. Joyce Bernal, Robin Padilla, and other private citizens.
