Paolo Contis talked about his new TV series project
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis enthused about being the “kontrabida” of Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes in the upcoming series The Master Cutter.
Paolo has been in the industry since she was just a young a boy. From being a child star, he transitioned one of the teen stars of his generation, and eventually became an established actor.
In a recent interview on the Kapuso Primetime news program 24 Oras, Paolo talked about his upcoming project, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
He shared that he really grabbed the opportunity to work with Dingdong Dantes when this project was offered to him.
“Finally. Matagal kaming nagpahinga sa primetime. I was doing movies for the past year, a year and a half, so ngayon nagkaroon ng pagkakataon makatrabaho si Mr. Dantes, so of course, you grab the chance,” Paolo Contis said.
In this upcoming series, Paolo portrays the villain character. He admitted that he missed doing this kind of role.
“Na-miss ko ‘yung pagiging kontrabida actually. For longest time, ako ang nagbi-villain kay Dingdong sa Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang, Alyas Robin Hood,” he shared.
Paolo also shared that he and Dingdong have been doing their trainings, and he jokingly said that they’re too old for this. “I’m very confident na maaksidente man ako sa kaniya, maaksidente man niya ‘ko, walang initan ng ulo,” he said.
Meanwhile, aside from the continued success that he has in his showbiz career, Paolo also achieved a big milestone in his personal life.
Last year, the actor was able to reconcile with his ex-wife, former EB Babes member Lian Paz. It is known to many that Paolo and Lian had a messy breakup. For many years, the actor was absent from the lives of their daughters.
When the reconciliation happened, Paolo started having his bonding moments with his daughters more often. The actor also established a friendship with John Cabahug, Lian’s husband. Paolo Contis even called them as his family in Cebu.
