The Filipino Catholic devotees have already start to visit and wipe their towels on the Black Nazarene a day before the Traslacion 2019.
On Tuesday morning (January 8, 2019), thousands of Filipino people have line up for the annual “Pahalik” at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.
The devotees fall in line to kiss the feet and wipe their towels in the wooden image of the Black Nazarene.
The yearly “Pahalik” started around 6 am in the morning but the devotees have already come to Quirino Grandstand on Monday evening and line up at 5 am today.
“Pahalik” was still a part of the annual Traslacion or feast of the Black Nazarene, which usually celebrated every January 9 of every year.
The Traslacion venerates millions of Filipino devotees who were attending the religious event every year to show their devotion.
The national government has already deployed thousands of combined police and military personnel who will secure the safety of Traslacion on January 9, 2019 (Wednesday).
