PAGASA Announces Light Rains Expected During the Black Nazarene’s Traslacion 2019

The state weather bureau PAGASA said that Filipino devotees could experience a bad weather condition during the Black Nazarene’s Traslacion 2019.

On Monday (January 7, 2019), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that light rains are expected during the feast of the Black Nazarene.

PAGASA said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected during the annual procession of the wooden statue.

The weather agency said that no weather disturbance is expected over the next five days.

About five million Filipino Catholic devotees are expected to participate on the annual religious event, according to the Quiapo Church officials.

National Capital Region Police Office Director Guillermo Eleazar said that the traslacion spans 6.1 kilometers from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.

The theme for this year’s event was “Hinirang at Pinili Upang Maging Lingkod Niya.” The yearly procession usually lasts 22 hours to complete.
