Remember actor-turned-painter Jao Mapa?
He first came to prominence when he was featured in the advertisement of softdrink brand Pepsi-Cola.
He later ventured into modeling and eventually having a stint on various television shows including ASAP and Eat Bulaga.
Jao Mapa also became part of different films including Maalaala Mo Kaya: The Movie in 1994, Pare Ko in 1995, Asero in 1995, Dahil Tanging Ikaw in 1997, and Limang Dipang Tao in 2012.
However, he left showbiz for a while.
But what did he do while he was away from the limelight?
He returned to school to finish his course in Fine Arts, Major in Advertising at the University of Santo Tomas.
He’s already married. He tied the knot to Cecille with whom he has three kids; Benjamin, Caleb, and Amber Marie.
As a painter, he has already made a name for himself. He is behind some of his renowned masterpieces such as; Pamilya, Basurero, Inuman, Jusinera, Minotour, Umaga, Labandera and Pista.
He’s also active on social media where he usually posts his artworks.

Meanwhile, Jao Mapa, 41, still appears on television once in a while.
He has appeared in numerous television shows which include Wish Ko Lang, It’s Showtime, Magpakailanman, and on the top-rating ABS-CBN primetime series, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” wherein he portrays the role of a policeman.
At present, he is gearing up for his starring in upcoming movie, Pagpag: Larawang Kupas which will hit theaters this year.
