Thief Slips While Stealing Eggs From Store in Rizal
A thief slipped while trying to escape after stealing trays of eggs from a small store in Barangay Mahabang Parang, Angono, Rizal.
On Monday morning, March 23, 2026, the male suspect was caught on CCTV while trying to escape after stealing eggs from a store. The incident garnered various reactions from the online community.
The man appeared to be an ordinary customer at first. He walked into the store calmly and acted as if he was just there to buy something. After a few moments, he suddenly carried a bundle of six trays of eggs, worth more than P1,500, and quickly left the area.
As he tried to leave, he lost his footing and slipped, almost dropping the eggs. Despite the fall, he managed to regain his balance and continued running away. Another CCTV camera later showed him entering a nearby alley, making it harder for anyone to follow him.
The store owner discovered the theft when she noticed that one bundle of eggs was missing. She shared that this was not the first time her store had been targeted. Since January, their shop has already been robbed of eggs three times, and the same man is believed to be responsible for at least two of those incidents.
“Paalis na kami, nakita ko wala na ‘yung isang bundle pa na nakatali, anim na tray. Binuhat na naman ‘yung itlog ko rito,” store owner Elvie Talavera said.
The repeated theft has been difficult for the owner, who relies on her small business for a living. Losing goods, even something as simple as eggs, has a big impact on her daily earnings.
“Lumaban siya nang patas. Magtrabaho siya nang maayos. Pinapakain niya siguro sa pamilya niya. Napalaking bagay nun, magkano puhunan ko roon,” she added.
Local officials said they are working to identify the suspect, though his face was not clearly captured on camera. They plan to install more CCTV cameras in the area and increase patrols to prevent similar incidents.
Meanwhile, the store owner has added grills to her shop as an extra layer of protection against thieves.
