Janine Gutierrez Reacts To Bong Suntay’s Remark On Anne Curtis

Janine Gutierrez was asked about the recent issue involving Anne Curtis

Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez strongly condemned the remarks made by Quezon City Representative Bong Suntay regarding Anne Curtis.

To recall, this controversy began during a House Committee on Justice hearing on March 3, 2026, where Rep. Suntay used an analogy involving Anne to argue a legal point about imagination versus action.

He said that seeing Anne in Greenhills awakened his manhood, but he stressed that no crime had been committed, since he had done nothing.

Even though he apologized after the backlash he received from showbiz personalities and many netizens, Suntay asserted that there was nothing wrong with what he said. Anne was defended by her sister, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and her loved ones, as well as her friends in the entertainment industry.

After several days, Anne Curtis spoke about this and rejected Suntay’s apology, calling it a “non-apology”.

In a recent interview, based on the video that ABS-CBN entertainment reporter MJ Felipe shared on his page on X, formerly Twitter, Janine Gutierrez shared her thoughts on this issue.

She described the congressman’s words as “infuriating” and “gross”. “Sobrang nakakagalit. Kadiri for that to be even said out loud anywhere, more so in a place of power and public office,” the Kapamilya actress said.

Janine also said that this issue, hopefully, will serve as a lesson to remind men that it is never okay to say such things about women.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview also, Star for All Seasons and incumbent Batangas Governor Vilma Santos shared her thoughts on Bong Suntay’s controversial remark on Anne Curtis.

The veteran actress said she was definitely not happy about this. She stressed that she has been very vocal about women empowerment and the respect that women deserve.
