DILG Asserts No Special Treatment for Bong Revilla: “Walang airconditioning system doon”

Former Sen. Bong Revilla Voluntarily Surrenders to PH Authorities

BONG REVILLA – The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) asserted that there will be no special treatment for the former Senator.

Last night, countless Filipinos were shocked when former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and was brought to Camp Crame. He was served his arrest warrant that was released by the Sandiganbayan Third Division.

The Sandiganbayan Third Division also released an arrest warrant against several former officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) over the alleged ghost flood control project. The other subjects in the arrest warrants released are the following:

  • former DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office (DEO) assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez
  • former DPWH Bulacan First DEO Engr. Jaypee Mendoza
  • former DPWH Bulacan First DEO Engr. Arjay Domasig
  • former DPWH Bulacan First DEO Engr. Emelita Juat
  • former DPWH Bulacan First DEO finance section chief Juanito Mendoza, at
  • DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office cashier Christina Pineda

Former Sen. Bong Revilla maintained his innocence from the flood control corruption accusations hurled against him. He also claimed that there is seemingly a lack of due process in the recent turn of events.

Separate plunder charges were filed against Revilla as well as Sen. Jinggoy Estrada and the Department of Justice previously confirmed that subpoena is set to be released against them. The Ombudsman filed graft and malversation charges against the former Senator.

Recently, Department of Interior and Local Government or DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla spoke on former Sen. Bong Revilla following his voluntary surrender to the authorities. According to News5, Remulla assured that there will be no special treatment for the former Senator.

“There will be no special treatment. Wala talaga, kahit puntahan niyo ngayon, walang airconditioning system doon,” the DILG Chief said.

Furthermore, DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla also stressed that former Sen. Bong Revilla was found to be in a “very good health condition”. According to the Interior Secretary, the former Senator is 59 years old now and he is as healthy as a 59-year-old could be and “even healthier”.

Based on a post, former Sen. Bong Revilla recently arrived in Sandiganbayan. He was accompanied by his wife, Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado, and DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla.

Amid his surrender to the Philippine authorities, former Sen. Bong Revilla asked for prayers from the public.
