Vice Ganda Says He Would Buy ABS-CBN If He Had a Million Dollars
VICE GANDA – Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda stunned fans after revealing what he would buy first if he suddenly had a million dollars.
Vice Ganda recently revealed his interest in buying ABS-CBN, should he ever come into possession of a million dollars. The comedian-host remarked on a vlog by ABS-CBN Star Cinema, where he was asked to answer several iconic beauty pageant-style questions.
One of the questions posed to Vice was, “Let’s make believe that all of a sudden you had a million dollars. What’s the first thing you would buy and why would you buy it?” The question prompted a candid and surprising response from the Kapamilya star.

Vice answered, “If I have a million dollars, the first thing that I would buy is ABS-CBN.” Vice further elaborated on his answer, adding, “I will buy ABS-CBN, and after a while, I will turn it back to its original owners.” His statement drew attention online, especially among supporters of the network who continue to express hope for its full return to free television.
ABS-CBN, one of the Philippines’ largest media networks, lost its 25-year legislative franchise in May 2020 after 70 members of Congress voted against granting it a new franchise. The decision resulted in the network’s shutdown of its free-to-air television and radio broadcasts, marking a historic moment in the country’s media landscape.
Before the franchise denial, the network was also publicly criticized by former President Rodrigo Duterte, who accused ABS-CBN of failing to air his campaign advertisements during the 2016 elections. In response, the network’s management issued an apology and explained that there were limitations in accepting local political advertisements at the time.
Despite losing its franchise, ABS-CBN has continued to produce content through various platforms and partnerships. Currently, its programs air on different channels, including A2Z and GMA Network, allowing its shows to reach viewers nationwide.
Recently, ABS-CBN announced that several of its programs will be aired on ALLTV. These include FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Rojá, What Lies Beneath, It’s Showtime, ASAP, and TV Patrol. This development followed TV5’s decision to terminate its content agreement with ABS-CBN, which took effect on January 2, 2026.
Vice Ganda’s statement, though hypothetical, once again highlighted the deep connection many artists have with ABS-CBN and the enduring impact of the network on the Philippine entertainment industry.
