Authorities Arrest Man Stealing Delivery Motorcycle and Giving Parcels to Children
A 39-year-old man was arrested for stealing a delivery motorcycle and giving some of the parcels to children in Pangil, Laguna.
Authorities said the incident started when the suspect noticed a delivery rider doing his rounds. CCTV footage later showed that the man followed the rider closely. When the delivery rider parked the motorcycle and stepped away to complete a delivery, the suspect quickly took the chance to ride off with the vehicle.
A few hours later, police launched a follow-up operation and tracked the suspect to Siniloan, Laguna. There, officers were able to arrest him and recover the stolen motorcycle. However, several parcels that were originally loaded on the vehicle were already missing.

During the investigation, police learned that the suspect gave some of the parcels to children. He later admitted to taking the motorcycle, explaining that he acted out of desperation due to poverty.
The authorities stressed that the act still caused harm and serious consequences to others.
The delivery rider, who was left shaken by the incident, shared that he would personally pay the delivery company for the missing parcels. The total value of the lost items was estimated at around P14,000, a heavy burden for someone simply trying to earn a living.
Further investigation revealed another troubling detail. The motorcycle originally used by the suspect before stealing the delivery vehicle was also reported stolen.
The suspect is now facing charges under Republic Act 10883 for motorcycle theft, as well as theft charges related to the missing parcels. The incident reminds us that while kindness toward children may seem touching, unlawful actions can bring serious problems to innocent people just trying to do their jobs.
