Leni Robredo Commends Bongbong Marcos For Aggressive Housing Program

Leni Robredo highlighted this administration’s program

Former Vice President and incumbent Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo commended President Bongbong Marcos for his administration’s aggressive housing program.

To recall, Robredo and Marcos were opponents in the 2022 presidential elections. Some issues arose, and their supporters were clashing on social media.

In the 2025 midterm elections, Robredo ran for Mayor, and she won. Her supporters have been urging her to run for the national position again, but several times, Robredo expressed that she wanted to remain at the local level.

In recent years, the connection between Mayor Leni Robredo and President Bongbong Marcos has become smoother.

Last February, the President visited Naga City for the “Oplan Kontra Baha” program. During his visit, Marcos also donated P500 million to fund the repair of Jesse Robredo Coliseum, Naga Sports Complex, and Civic Center.

When asked about his visit to the city of his former opponent, Marcos stressed that no topic about politics was discussed. He said that they prioritized serving the people.

In a recent video shared by writer Gerry Cacanindin on Facebook, Mayor Leni Robredo, during an interview, expressed her gratitude to Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

Nagpapasalamat tayo sa national government, bahagi ito ng programa ng administrasyon ni President Bongbong Marcos na talagang aggressive na pabahay para sa mga walang bahay,” the Naga City Mayor said.

She also said that for a very long time, this kind of aggressiveness for the housing program was not seen. The former Vice President cited that when she was handling the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, one of their problems was that there was almost no budget for housing programs.

“Pero ngayon, nakikita natin na ang budget for housing, nama-maximize talaga,” she added.
