Based on a previous article, Kiefer Alas said the training was not an initiation rite for the newcomers. This has dismissed the rumors and speculations circulating online and he also clarified that there was no hazing involved at all in their boot camp.

Baldwin resigned and after he was previously warned about possibly facing contempt charges if he misses a hearing again, he appeared at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, on Friday.

Baldwin and three other Ateneo officials did not attend the June 15 fact-finding session at Camp Crame, opting to be represented by their legal counsel instead. The former coach also missed an NBI hearing, and his counsel, Karl Justeen David, said he was unwell but would cooperate with investigations.

During his Friday’s appearance he refused to speak with the media. He arrived at the CIDG offices around 8 AM on June 19.

Meanwhile, police investigators have dismissed the possibility that the deaths were accidental. According to CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander Morico II, the agency’s investigation indicates that the incident was not merely an accident, noting that several players had informed investigators they were aware of the strong water currents before the activity took place.

The CIDG is currently evaluating the filing of charges, including reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and possible violations of the Anti-Hazing Act.

The Department of Justice has issued immigration lookout bulletin orders against Baldwin, former team manager Christopher Quimpo, and assistant coaches Reynaldo Jacinto Jr, Dean Castaño and Sandro Soriano.
