MISS UNIVERSE 2025 – This year’s pageant is filled with controversy, and this reaction from the crowd after the winner’s announcement went viral.
From Fatima Bosch walking out to judges stepping down days before the actual pageant, Miss Universe 2025 is really something this year. Fatima Bosch of Mexico is the crowned Miss Universe 2025, and PH’s Ahtisa Manalo settled in the third runner-up.
Some of the issues that hounded the pageant’s 74th edition were:
- Anne Jakrajutatip, president of JKN Global Group, resigned after Thailand’s SEC launched investigations into her due to allegations of false statements and improper accounting.
- Media outlets, influencers, and makeup artists sent by Miss Universe president Raúl Rocha were banned. An initial sign that this year was going to be different.
- Nawat Itsaragrisil, head of Miss Universe Thailand and founder of Miss Grand International, sparked outrage after announcing a popularity contest and that the winners will win a private dinner with him.
- Navat insulted Miss Mexico, which prompted the latter to walk out, followed by the others. Nawat received backlash and shortly after, released an apology.
- Resignations, accusations, and conflicts of interest surfaced. Judge Omar Harfouch resigned, alleging an “improvised jury,” resigned. French coach Claude Makélélé also resigned as a judge.
Recently, as controversies still stir even after the new winner was crowned, a video of the live crowd from the venue screaming “boo” after Miss Mexico was declared as the winner went viral. Those who support Mexico were celebrating, but the others did not like the results, prompting them to shout their “boos” from their seats.

- 1st Runner-up: Praveenar Singh, Thailand
- 2nd Runner-up: Stephany Abasali, Venezuela
- 3rd Runner-up: Ahtisa Manalo, Philippines
- 4th Runner-up: Olivia Yacé, Cote d’Ivoire
