Heart Evangelista Reveals Trying Surrogacy Twice

In an IG live, Heart Evangelista opened up doing this thing.

Kapuso actress and fashion icon Heart Evangelista reveals she went through surrogacy twice, and this is what happened in her pursuit.

Not all, but many women dream of becoming mothers. In May 2018, Heart Evangelista excitedly announced that she was expecting twins; however, she lost one of the twins. Shortly, the other one followed, making her heartbroken twice, and her pain doubled.

In 2024, she went through an In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure, but unfortunately, Heart lost the perfect egg. This was another loss for her, and this was in March. Come May of the same year, she had another loss again.

Heart shared about losing her 4th baby, “A few days ago our baby boys heart stopped beating. This will be our 4th angel … and although this could be one of my biggest heartbreaks … thank YOU for still for trying to be with me and for making me feel so much love already.”

Recently, during an Instagram Live, she revealed that she had undergone surrogacy twice, which she described as a process that took a heavy toll on her. She admitted that her case is a complicated one. From the usual one injection, she had to have three injections daily for two weeks, and she doesn’t know if it had something to do with her working so much and hard.

“I even had injections on my butt—sobrang tapang ng injection doon. And after all that, I was able to harvest only four eggs. I only had four eggs… two of them were inviable, and two were safe—a boy and a girl,” she said.

She named them Francisko and Ameera; however, Ameera didn’t make it.

Heart didn’t want to let go of Francisko, her remaining egg, and, with her husband’s surprise, Francisko went ahead with surrogacy. At four months, they had heartbeats. She got excited for him, and she went on to buy things. But the excitement and hope went down the drain when they also lost him.

“So I was buying things already, I was very excited and hopeful. But then… yeah, we lost him too. So now, I’m not… ang sakit talaga sa dibdib,” she shared.

It was a difficult phase in her life, but she chose not to dwell on it. Instead, she shifted her attention to other things that could “suspend her sadness for a while” and immersed herself in work. At the same time, she realized she also has twins, the children of her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, whom she has been raising since they were four.

“So I’m very grateful that I have two kids. Technically my stepkids, but I consider them my own. I may not have given them the gift of life, but, you know, I love them and they love me. So ’yun, di ba?”
