MARIS RACAL – Game show trivia took a hilariously awkward turn when Maris Racal was hit with a question that brought up a very familiar name.
In a lighthearted yet unexpected moment on television, actress Maris Racal found herself in a brief state of confusion during her appearance on the July 13 episode of Rainbow Rumble, the Kapamilya game show hosted by Luis Manzano.
Maris was participating in the show alongside her Sunshine co-stars Elijah Canlas and Merryl Soriano, as well as directors Tonet Jadaone and Dan Villegas. While the group enjoyed the energetic atmosphere of the game, one particular trivia question visibly stunned the actress.
During a segment of the show, Luis Manzano asked, “Kumpletuhin ang hit song ng 80s American pop group na Breakfast Club — Rico blank?”
The correct answer was supposed to be Rico Mambo, a 1987 hit. However, the moment the question was read aloud, Maris quickly hit the buzzer, only to freeze and respond with confusion: “What? Rico what?” Her stunned reaction sparked laughter from the studio audience and even from host Luis himself.
The game show moment became even more entertaining when Maris playfully screamed in surprise as the studio erupted in cheers. Luis, ever the comedic host, jokingly followed up with, “Maris, hindi siya ha,” subtly alluding to Rico Blanco, Maris’ ex-boyfriend.
Maris announced her split with Rico in July 2024 after being together for five years.
Although unintentional, the mention of “Rico” in the game show question brought an amusing and awkward twist to the segment. Maris handled the situation with grace and humor, showing her ability to laugh at the moment despite its personal undertones.
